SWEet as Chocolate tour at DeBrand's (June 2017)
We reached the end of the SWE FY 2017 and to celebrate SWE NEI members went on a DeBrand's Chocolate Tour. We enjoyed a brief introduction and members feedback, wonderfully flavored DeBrand's spreads on crostini, beverages, and a chocolate making tour with lots of scrumptious samples!
It was wonderful to see new and familiar faces! (Sorry! we forgot to take pictures.) Everyone have a fun and safe Summer! Hope to see everyone again this Fall!

IPFW - Girl Scout Engineering Badge Workshop (March 2017)
The Annual IPFW Girl Scout Badge Workshop took place on March 26th 2017. Forty young ladies and parents from around the Northeastern Indiana and Western Ohio area attended the event. There were 4 breakout areas with hands on activities that explored different types of engineering (e.g. Civil, Structural, Electrical). The ladies poured concrete, filtered water, built circuits and designed boats. The response was very positive. This is a collaboration between the collegiate and professional sections. The collegiate section plans the event and provides the facilitators while the professional section provided volunteers and funding.

TEKsystems Recruiters Networking

SWE NEI hosted a panel of recruiters from TEKsystems on November 8, 2016. Recruiters Adam Lahr and Natalie Anderson shared valuable information about market trends in the fields of Technology and Engineering, qualities of a resume and good candidate, the benefits of working with a recruiter, and much more. More details were shared during the Q/A portion of the event covering topics such as working visas, contract-to-hire requirements for companies, and job titles to list a few.
Attendees received an on-site resume review and opportunity to talk with the recruiters about their career goals.
